Housing Education and Advocacy for Rural Texans

The goal of the HEART project is to increase access to integrated, affordable, and accessible housing, as well as provide leadership, advocacy, and independent living skills trainings to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in rural communities.

This means helping you understand your rights when it comes to moving out on your own and learning about government subsidized housing and how it works and how waiver programs such as HCS (Home and Community Based Services) work.

You can also:

  • Learn module trainings on various topics
  • Learn about Medicaid benefits
